TNA Wrestling Brings Back-to-Back Live Events To Baltimore For The First Time Ever

Baltimore-area Natives AJ Francis & Moose Preview the Maryland Shows During Media Tour August 7-8
TNA Wrestling heads to sports-crazed Baltimore, Maryland for the first time ever on Friday & Saturday, August 15-16, for back-to-back nights of high-energy, action-packed pro wrestling at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena.
The Friday night show on August 15 is the Emergence special, airing live on the TNA+ app. The Saturday, August 16 show will be a taping for TNA’s flagship weekly TV show, iMPACT!, which airs on AXS TV in the U.S. and Sportsnet in Canada.
To preview the Baltimore shows, Baltimore natives AJ Francis and Moose are available for media interviews on Thursday & Friday, August 7-8. They also will be making multiple stops around the city, including promotional appearances.
The Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena (formerly the UMBC Event Center) is located on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Catonsville, Maryland. It is the home of the UMBC Retrievers men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as the volleyball team.
MOOSE
Moose has held multiple championships during his run in TNA, including the World Championship and the X Division Championship.
Quinn Ojinnaka, the real-life Moose, played for four teams over seven seasons in the National Football League after being drafted by the Falcons in the 5th round in 2006. Ojinnaka’s NFL career also included time with the New England Patriots, where he was teammates with legendary quarterback Tom Brady while playing for one of the best NFL head coaches in history, Bill Belichick.
Ojinnaka played 62 NFL games after playing at Syracuse University.
Moose and Bill Goldberg, another fellow former Atlanta Falcons player, are the only former NFL players from the modern era to have gone from the NFL to become the World Champion of a pro wrestling company. In fact, there are only four others in addition to Moose & Goldberg to have ever gone from the NFL to World Championship glory in pro wrestling, including Bronko Nagurski, who is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The others are Ernie Ladd, Dick the Bruiser and Gus Sonnenberg.
AJ FRANCIS
The leader of FIR$T CLA$$, AJ Francis is a former TNA Digital Media Champion who has had many other title matches, in singles and tag team action.
Francis played college football at Maryland, then was signed by the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. His pro football career also included time with the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins, among others.
Francis has been a part of the annual Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, where he is the Cheez-It Champion with its MVP Title.
All the TNA stars will be at the Baltimore shows, including Jeff & Matt Hardy, Nic & Ryan Nemeth, Joe Hendry, Steve Maclin, Eric Young, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, Mustafa Ali, Leon Slater and Knockouts such as Indi Hartwell, Masha Slamovich and others.
In addition, TNA World Champion Trick Williams and TNA Knockouts World Champion Jacy Jayne – both members of the NXT roster – will be at the Baltimore shows.
